We submit the completed package once required approvals are in place. Application filing is a step in the process—not a guarantee of title approval or issuance.

Title types

Junk titles and standard titles, explained.

The type of title depends on the vehicle and the case. Under New Jersey rules, not every vehicle qualifies for every title, and different procedures apply to vehicles left on public property, on private property, or at a repair facility.

Junk title

For vehicles that qualify for dismantling or scrap.

  • Used when a vehicle is headed for dismantling or scrap, not a return to the road.
  • A junk title is not a road-use title.

Standard title

For vehicles that qualify for resale under New Jersey rules.

  • Used when the vehicle and the case meet the requirements for resale.
  • Not every vehicle qualifies for a standard title. Eligibility depends on the vehicle and the case.

Junk titles are not salvage titles. Salvage titles are a separate category under NJ MVC rules. Our services cover junk-title and standard-title applications where the vehicle and case qualify.
